The saint wrote a book called "The Maqalat" which discuses the stages of the spiritual journey. He was an accessible and down to earth Sufi mystic around the end of the 13th Century. Known mostly for his tireless advocation of the equal rights and capabilities of women. (See also "The Siva Samhita" for similarities.)
